Down to the Wire

What do you do when your Craft Studio is all boxed up (ready for the big move in a week) . . . but you need to make a card now?  You panic use pre-colored digital images and digi papers.  Thank goodness Doodle Pantry has both.  (There's a reason I kept my laptop and printer hooked up until the last day.)

I used the cattails from Swimming Mallard COLOR Plus and the butterflies, sentiment and decorative paper from New Butterfly.  The colors from the two sets worked so well together.

I fussy cut the cattails and 3 different sizes of the same butterfly. The beauty of pre-colored images is you can use them "as-is" or enhance them with additional coloring. Since all my coloring tools are packed away also, I chose to go "as-is" on this card.

I did keep a small (very small) box of items just in case (glue, white cardstock, my scraps of color cardstock, etc) . . . so I was able to add dimensionals to the butterflies and sentiment.  Thank goodness I have more spools of ribbon than a normal person should have; it was easy to find that box for some yellow-gold ribbon.

I kept the inside simple, since I didn't have a lot of options.

I'm entering this card in the Love to Create Challenge ~ #134 Fussy Cut

New Products at Doodle Pantry

Doodle Pantry normally announces new products the first of the month . . . but Laurie had so much fun creating digis that she decided to have a Mid-September Release of 7 new products.  Stop by the Doodle Pantry store to see all the new sets available. Now would be a great time to pick up at least one set ~ you'll receive TWO free sets (Ageless Antiques 1 AND Gift Monkey) when you make a purchase between now and Sept 24.

I used Praying Birdie; the color version~because right now my Craft Studio is in shambles (trying to pack and get ready for our move in 2 weeks).  I also used one of the Digi Papers, since all my DSP is packed up as well.  But, that's the beauty of Digital stamps and papers . . . you don't have to store oodles of cardstock and paper . . . you can print out what you need. Downsizing at its best !

Be sure to stop by Doodle Pantry to see all the new sets released today.  Then grab a few freebies

Christmas Card Challenges #42

The weeks are flying by which means it's time for another challenge from the Christmas Card Challenges group. This week we have a Color Challenge for you.

I used a digital image from Doodle Pantry called Birdie Christmas COLOR Plus

I added a bit of sparkle (glitter glue) to the hat and tassel and some Glossy Accents to the star.

I carried the design to the inside and included a sentiment from the same set (Birdie Christmas).  Love these colors together. Check out what the other Christmas Card Challenges Design Team Members created this week using the following Color palette.

Christmas Card Challenges #41: Think Skinny

Another week, another challenge from Christmas Card Challenges
The theme this week is:
Think Skinny
~ you can use your own imagination as to what that means.

I went with a "Skinny" accordion fold card~although I did consider a Skinny Santa image.  Enjoy and get creative this year with your Christmas Cards.

Crafty Creations Sketch Challenge

This week Crafty Creations has a Sketch Challenge for you.  We're sponsored by Stitchy Bear's Digital Outlet.

I used a set from Coosty Creations (at Stitchy Bears) called Aubrietia.  The background papers are also in this set. I colored the flower with Copics, added some ribbon, a decorative punched flower piece and a home-made enamel dot.

Here's the sketch. Check out the Crafty Creations blog to see what the other Design Team members created ~ and we'd love to have you join along.

Doodle Pantry: September New Products

Happy Labor Day!  Happy September!  Welcome to a new month and lots of new designs and images at Doodle Pantry

One of the new sets is Cheer Spirit.  It's the featured product ~ meaning you'll get it for free if you play along in the Monthly Challenge (begins at noon today) and use a Doodle Pantry image on your project.

Of course I had to use one of the pre-colored images. What Florida Gator fan wouldn't just love the Orange and Blue?  I grouped 2 pom-poms and the megaphone into one image.  The background striped paper is also from the set.

I added a computer generated sentiment and a few orange and blue candy dots.

Through September 6, you can get 30% OFF your entire cart contents (EXCLUDES gift certificates and "bundled" products). You just need to have at least $2.00 retail in your cart first. Click here to see the details of this special offer.  Plus there is a FREE with Purchase set available (Ageless Antiques 1) until Sept. 24.  To see all the new sets available this month, click here.
