Christmas Card Challenges # 48

An "Anything Goes" challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges. The Holiday is almost here and you need to get those cards done in time to mail them.

Hopefully my simple card layout will inspire you.

I used a pre-colored digi, paper and sentiment from Doodle Pantry's "Winter Star."

Added a few handmade dots ~ love these.

Two punched labels (Stampin' Up!) became the mat for the inside sentiment.

So, how are you doing on your Christmas cards? Still need a few more? Stop by Christmas Card Challenges to see what the other DT members created this week . . . maybe you'll be inspired to "create."

Happy Birthday, Dad

I may not be completely unpacked and "settled" into the new house yet, but I was able to spend a half day in the 'still unorganized' craft room. What a great feeling to be Creative again.

This is one of the adorable digi images from Doodle Pantry's Silly Critter set. The sentiment is my own, but I think the sentiment lends itself to the look on this critter's face.  Priceless.

This card is for my dad. We live far away from him and we'd love for him to move closer to us, but so far we've had no luck in convincing him to move. And with us recently moving into a new house (same community, same street, just a different home), making a trip north for his birthday this year was not practical.

Happy Birthday, Dad. Hope your day is special ~ since you're very special to us.

I'm back

I'm sorry that I've been absent for awhile, but we recently moved into a new house and things are still not going well. It seems as if somethings breaks or falls apart every day and we have new surprises (not happy ones) weekly. God is teaching me a lot of patience and maybe if I would learn how to be patient, He wouldn't have to keep giving me lessons {smile}.

I'm finally able to be a little creative ~ meaning I have finally found my cardstock, computer and printer. However, I don't have much room to work on projects since the work tables are covered with "stuff," but hopefully that will change during the next week.

Since it's Sunday, there's another weekly challenge for you at Christmas Card Challenges. Those Christmas cards will need to go in the mail soon, so I hope you're working on yours.  The theme this week is an Inspiration Photo and it's a snow globe.

The card looks better in person than in the photo (at least I feel it does). Somehow the round piece of plastic that I punched out to create the "snow globe" doesn't show up in the photo ~ so just pretend that you see a shiny, "glassy-like" round piece creating the snow globe.

I used the Winter Song Birdies digital image from Doodle Pantry (the color digi) and fussy cut around the printed image.  I embossed a round circle with a dot embossing folder to create fake "snow" ~ glued the digi to the top of that and then added the clear plastic round. A brown base finishes the snow globe.  The sentiment is also from the Winter Song Birdies set.

Below is the Christmas Card Challenges Inspirational Photo.  Stop by the blog to see what the other Design Team members created this week.

Doodle Pantry October Release

Laurie, the Doodle Pantry creator, has done it again . . . she's put together so many wonderful digi sets this month that I had a very hard time deciding what I wanted to feature today.  But when I saw Spooky Worms, an idea popped in my head and I had to create a card using this set.

How cute is this image ? !  Now the set is really a Halloween set, but Doodle Pantry digis are so versatile that you can use them for just about any occasion.

I used one image that had the "dirt" and shading and a second image ~ which I sized just a tad bit smaller than the first ~ of just the worm.  I really do love working with digital images.

I used the pre-colored digi as well as digipaper from the set since I created this card prior to our move while all my supplies were boxed up (ok, they're STILL boxed up, but we finally moved yesterday so I can begin to unpack), .

The sentiment is computer generated using the CK Spaghetti font ~ spaghetti and worms go together, right? I was inspired by one of the sentiments from the set.  I found a piece of brown ribbon and since it was long enough to do 3 pieces across, I decided to use it all ~ one less thing to pack and  unpack

Stop by the Doodle Pantry website to see the other products released this month along with freebies, specials, etc.  There's a monthly challenge starting at noon here. Check out Spooky Worms by clicking on the image below.
