Christmas Card Challenges # 26

I hope today is a good day for you.  This week we have another
Anything Goes Challenge
at
Christmas Card Challenges.

I printed the background and main image in Navy Blue.  It's matted with Navy cardstock.

Stop by Christmas Card Challenges to see our winners from last week and what the DT has created for your inspiration this week.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:

Friendships . . .

I printed this Doodle Pantry digital image a month or so ago ~ and it never got used.  I'm in the process of re-organizing (aka cleaning) my Craft Room/Office and found it in a pile of ... well ... "stuff."  I'm sure you have a pile or two like that also, right?

I felt crafty tonight and decided to finally turn this beautiful digi into a card.  And, everything just fell into place:
~ The sentiment has the word "heart" in it
~ I found a sheet of light yellow DSP with hearts in my paper stash
~ I found a heart in my charm stash so I put together a pin and used the heart
~ Even my bow cooperated this evening; first attempt

And Tuesday Morning Sketches gave me the inspiration with their sketch this week.

Life is good !

I love the sentiment ~ and the heart DSP ~ and the heart charm.  Things don't normally go this smoothly for me (i.e., card completed and photographed in less than 1 hour)

And here's the Tuesday Morning sketch I used~see, it has a heart. My card was just "meant to be" LOL

Digital Image and Sentiment from Doodle Pantry's English Bluebells Set.

Better Late Than Never

I'm almost embarrassed to write this post today.

See, back in December I won 3 digistamps from Crissy Armstrong. She has some of the best images; if you're not familiar with her designs, check them out here.  I already owned several of her stamps and had a difficult time picking just 3, but I finally did.

In emails back and forth, I found out she's not only a talented artist, she's also a wonderful, caring person and a fellow sister in the Lord. It was a Win - Win - Win.

I couldn't wait to print out the images and get to coloring. Which I did . . . right away...back in December.

However, I just realized that I never posted even one of the cards I made using my new digistamps. So, here's the first card I made w w w a a a y y y back in January.  It's already out of my possession and in the hands of my "sister" (she isn't really, but we call each other that since we finish each other's sentences). At least I took pictures before I sent it to her.

Crissy, I'm sorry for not showcasing these stamps sooner. You know how excited I was to get them (I really was) . . . I guess life just happens sometimes.

The card is actually an easel card.

I just love these little happy fellas.  I added Stickles to their little poms.

On the inside, I left room at the top to write a little note.

Due to the new EUR VAT laws, the digistamps aren't available at this time. However, you can still purchase Crissy Armstrong rubber stamps through Whimsy Stamps.  Click here.

I'm entering the following Challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #132-Cute + a Sentiment (hopefully the Happy counts as my sentiment)
Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Challenge #83-Anything but a Square Card
Di's Digi Design Challenge - 2 or more Designer Papers
Sister Act Card Challenge #108-Always Anything Goes
Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes for Kids (what child wouldn't love these penguins)

Crafty Creations Challenges #290

The Crafty Creations Challenge for the next two weeks is:

All Creatures Great or Small

And how can you not like this adorable little mouse from Doodle Pantry's Get Well Critters Set?

The image is a mixture of a pre-colored and Copic colored digi. The sentiment is from the set also.

I added clear faceted half gems to the front. The DSP is Paper Studio's Sweet Pea Paper Pack Cardstock.

The Challenge winner will receive a prize from Jaime, our fearless leader whom I've had the pleasure of working with for almost 2 years. My how the time flies.

Christmas Card Challenges #25

It's another Anything Goes Challenge at Christmas Card Challenges this week.  What a great time to get at least one more Christmas Card completed for your stash.  Please pop on over, see what the Design Team Members created (leave us a little comment love), then grab your supplies and join along.  We love to see what you create !

I freehand cut the trees and bases and just had fun paper piecing and adding a little doodling.  A few brads and punched stars finish the trees.

I can't wait to see what you create this week.

Finally . . .

Yes, Finally !!!   I finally had a chance to ink up and color this LOTV stamp ~ it's so cute, I'm not sure what took me so long to use it.

And this wonderful sketch design at Tuesday Morning Sketches just seemed to be the perfect time to use this stamp.  It's been awhile since I've played along with them, but I love their sketches and the fact that I don't really have to "think" about how I'm going to put my card together.

And here's the sketch I used.  I really didn't waiver from it, other than I added a sentiment to the bottom.

I thought I'd also play along in the following Challenges:

Seize The Birthday - Must be Birthday Card - Anything Goes Challenge
QKR Stampede #140 - Children's Birthday Card
Simply Papercraft - #5 Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - #107  - Anything Goes

Doodle Pantry ~ New Releases

Doodle Pantry has several new sets available today.  I'm featuring Dahlia (flower) and Stand in Faith (sentiment).

I hand colored the flower rather than using one of the pre-colored images.  Although the pre-colored flowers are beautiful also.  I just like yellow lately {smile}.

I love the new Stand in Faith sentiment set. And this sentiment just seemed to go beautifully with the image.

Stop by the Doodle Pantry store. There's a special sale going on that you won't want to miss.  And then stop by the Doodle Pantry blog to see what the other DT members have created.  And the monthly Ants in My Pants Digital Challenge is still going on ~ the theme is Anything Goes as long as you use a Digital Image (you don't have to use a Doodle Pantry image, but we love it when you do).

Crafty Creations Challenges #289

A fun challenge and a great sponsor.  What could be better?  How about a short post . . . so you can get to crafting and link up with us over at Crafty Creations Challenges.

Theme: Color Challenge
Kraft, Pink, Brown, Green, White

Sponsor:  A Creative Need
Check out Deena's shop (click here
or her blog (click here)

I used one of Deena's beautiful digital stamps ~ Pear Tree Blossom

I added very subtle pink to the flowers, mainly because Pear Tree Blossoms are white.  I printed the digi onto watercolor paper using my Laser Printer (first time trying this and I loved the way it worked).

I watercolored the image using my new Derwent Inktense pencils.  And, because I forgot this was a Color Challenge, my first flower was yellow (I'll post that card later in the month LOL).

The sentiment is from TLC Creations (click here).

Be sure to stop by the Crafty Creations Challenges blog to see what the other DT members created and to leave us some Comment love.  We love to hear from you and hope we inspire you to Create !

Note: I'm sorry for the quality of the picture. My camera and computer have been on the fritz lately and this was the best shot I could get.

Christmas Card Challenges

Christmas Card Challenges has a Color Challenge Theme for you this week; although the only real rule to play along with us is to create a Christmas Card.

I've got another CAS Christmas Card this week for my "stash" since I think they'll be easier to mail than big bulky cards.

I hope you'll join along.  Stop by the blog (click here) and see what the other DT members created . . . we're almost halfway through the year !

And here's the color theme for this week's Challenge.  I chose the ivory, gold and berry colors (first 3 on the chart).  The sentiment and the stars are die-cuts. The star "hanger" is gold pen.

Doodle Pantry New Releases

Doodle Pantry is releasing several new sets this month. Great time to stop by the store to see what's new and what's on sale.  One new set is Cute Crawlies.

How cute is this frog image?

I printed 2 vines with about 1-1/4" gap between them. I also printed 3 frogs and the sentiment.  Now, the easiest way to make this card would have been to punch out a small orange circle, then use a smaller circle to punch out the frog.  But nnnoooo . . . I went and punched a hole out of the white piece with the vines. Then I punched a smaller hole out of orange cardstock and placed that behind the white-vine-piece to create the mat. I punched the frogs out using a larger circle and placed them behind the orange mat.

It looks great in person, but unfortunately on the computer it looks like the orange mat and frog are on top of the white-vine-piece . . . does all of this make any sense?

I tried to carry a bit of the sketch to the inside also, along with another frog. BTW, the DSP and the sentiment are also from the  Cute Crawlies set.

Be sure to stop by the Doodle Pantry store to see all the new releases.  Then, stop by the Doodle Pantry Blog to see other new product creations by the Design Team and link up your creations to the new Ants in My Pantry Digital Challenge beginning at noon EST.
